Searching for a classic
Vermont country inn experience? Welcome to Inn on the Common,
profiled by The Today Show and featured in The
Boston Globe and the Burlington Free Press. Plus, our
Today Show clip was selected by United Airlines to be shown to passengers as
part of their in-flight entertainment package!
We are so excited about all the wonderful things happening here
at the Inn and invite you to browse this site and learn more
about us. At Inn on the Common, your picture-perfect vacation comes complete with gourmet cuisine,
breathtaking scenery, maple syrup, wood-burning fireplaces and hand-stitched quilts. We
are proud to be a 100% non-smoking facility.
With over 28 years combined hospitality experience, Innkeepers
Jim and Judi Lamberti are experts at making folks feel at home,
in their home. That's right, they actually live right on the
premises. It's not unusual to bump into Jim on his daily walk or
see Judi hugging the latest guests goodbye.
Their warm, gracious New England
hospitality just makes you want to put your feet up and start
chatting! In fact, back in 1994, they were voted "Vermont
Innkeeper of the Year."
Considered the "Crown Jewel of the Northeast Kingdom,"
Inn on the Common is nestled in one of Vermont's most
photographed hill towns, famous Craftsbury Common. A charming
collection of sturdy white clapboard buildings, framed by
towering oaks and stands of pine, this quaint rural setting
offers a gentle reminder of simpler times gone by. The Inn's
lovely campus is home to three meticulously restored Federal
Houses, each surrounded by lush, sprawling lawns and gardens.
Inside, The Fireside Guide says, "Wallpapers
and fabrics are stunning and combinations of colors often
unexpected."
In the winter months, when our snowbelt location invites
the flakes to fall early and stay longer, Inn on the Common
offers some of the best cross-country skiing in the East. Our famous neighbor, the Craftsbury Nordic
Center offers over a hundred miles of beautifully groomed trails.
And although Spring and Summer bring flowers and
sunshine and startling cobalt blue skies, the star of any
Vermont show is always Autumn. Leaf-peeping season is a tonic
for the soul and there is nowhere better to enjoy it than at Inn
on the Common. Guests return year after year, driving up through the legendary
Green Mountains, to turn our cherished traditions into one of
their own.
