Have you ever thought about giving up your "day job"
and running off to Vermont to open your own country inn? Well,
that's exactly what Jim and Judi Lamberti, two veterans of the
hospitality business, decided to do!
After
spending the last fourteen years as the Innkeepers of
Burlington, Vermont's only four-diamond property, the Lamberti's were feeling the need for a change. A lot had
happened over the years. They had poured incredible time and energy
into helping build one of New England's most prestigious
large country hotels. They had become active in the hospitality
industry, joining the New England Innkeepers Association, where Jim
served as President in 2004. Organizations had begun
asking Jim to speak at conferences and industry events. The
Lambertis had traveled extensively, networking with other hotel folks, making
new friends and embracing new ideas. They had raised their children
and begun enjoying life as grandparents. And then, they started
thinking about how they would most like to spend the remainder
of their working years.
The answer was all too apparent: to become entrepreneurs, to
take everything they'd learned over the years and put it to work
at their very own inn, a place that was truly theirs, that they
could pass on to their children.
When Jim and Judi learned that Inn on
the Common up for sale, decisions were made swiftly. Within a
few short months, the Lamberti's packed up a lifetime of
memories and
relocated to Craftsbury Common. For Jim and Judi, the hardest thing
about moving was leaving friends and neighbors, their church
congregation, Rotary Club and other community interests.
As this narrative is being written, Spring buds have begun
blossoming into Summer flowers, and, little by little, guests
are seeing positive changes taking place at the Inn. The primary
goal is to maintain, and improve upon, the fine level of service
and quality that has made Inn on the Common such a popular
retreat. Assistant Innkeeper Michele Martin and a group of other associates have cheerfully agreed to stay
on, lending their support and commitment to that of the Inn's
new owners.
Returning guests can look forward to enjoying their favorite
country inn, revitalized with few shots of fresh energy and
enthusiasm. And new guests? Well, everyone at Inn on the Common
is waiting to impress you!
Thank you for visiting this website and for taking the time to
consider visiting Inn on the Common. From Jim, Judi, Michele and all the staff, enjoy the best of health, happiness and
great vacationing!
